Sociomaterial explorations of attendance practices in ‘schooling without schools’

Mass school closures and restricted mobility during the Covid-19 pandemic have intensified matters of technology, teaching, participation in schools. In response to this situation, paper examines how attendance practices work closure screen-saturated isolation at a Swedish upper secondary school. The aim is empirically theoretically explore by focusing on sets strategies enactments that make ‘attendable’ when being ‘in right place time’ becomes ambiguous. A relational materialist methodology deployed with online interviews six teachers first wave 2020. analysis traces empirical events enact different devices: video roll call, performance, ‘click like’ Microsoft Team-feed. article highlights monitoring shifts acts upon vice versa.
